White River Getaway, a three bedroom, 1.75 bath private home, is in a rural setting near Buffalo City, Arkansas. It is at the confluence of the White and Buffalo Rivers. The City of Mountain Home, Arkansas is 20 minutes away on scenic,  well-maintained hard surfaced roads. The setting is a pretty riverside valley where hardwoods and meadows alternate along the banks of the river. There are a few quiet neighbors who wave when you go by.

Fishing
The location is an ideal place to visit year around for rainbow, brown, brook, and cutthroat trout. Spring smallmouth bass fishing in the Buffalo river is excellent. Whether you enjoy fly fishing or bait fishing, everything you need is within a mile. The Getaway is a 100-yard walk to the White River. It is a half-mile drive to two full service facilities offering boat/motor rentals, bait, tackle, river taxi service, and fishing guide services. If you wish to bring your own boat, a hard-surface public boat launch is a mile away. You can be casting from the banks of the White in minutes of your arrival. In normal water levels you can also wade fish several good holes within walking distance.

The House
Central heat and air conditioning keep you comfortable no matter what time of year you choose to visit. Ceiling fans in the living room, kitchen, and all bed rooms circulate interior air keeping all rooms fresh and comfortable. Carpeting covers all floors except bathrooms. The living room has a color satellite TV set with 50 channels, 4 network stations, and a PBS station. A queen sleeper sofa and a futon offer extra sleeping capacity for larger groups.

Recreation
Fishing does not have to be the main focal point for staying at White River Getaway! You can spend quality time with the family or have some peace and quiet away from the office. Perhaps you want to finish reading that novel you started last month. Mountain Home, Arkansas, is only 20 minutes away for restaurants, movie theaters, golf courses, mini golf, churches, bowling, shopping, antique and craft stores. The Getaway is central to several area attractions, all of which are from 20 minutes to two hours away.

Grounds
The well maintained yard and lawn has flower gardens, shrubbery, several tall hardwood trees, and a garden pond. A large lawn offers children room to run and play outdoor games. The rural gravel road makes an ideal walking and running opportunity. A large charcoal BBQ grill next to a yard swing makes cooking out a relaxing experience. An illuminated sidewalk gives a final touch to peaceful evenings on the decks. The main deck is an L-shaped open 10 x 24 design accessible from the living/dinning front door. The covered side deck is 8 x 10 accessible through the French doors seen in photo 3 below.

The Kitchen
Good vacation meals don't happen without the right kitchen! The Getaway has an electric full size range and oven. You'll find everything you need to cook and serve complete meals.  A microwave oven, toaster, pots, pans, coffeemaker, electric fry pan, dishes, hand towels, and tableware for serving up to 10 people are included. Several cabinets and counter space give room for both storage and working room. A breakfast nook off the kitchen looks out over the garden pond in the yard. The refrigerator has room for several day's worth of groceries.

Bedrooms And Baths
One of the 3 bedrooms has two twin beds and a dresser. A second bedroom has two twin beds and a closet. The master suite has a private side entrance, a queen bed, and a sitting area. A woodburning stove keeps the bedroom warm and toasty in cooler weather. The master bathroom has a whirlpool tub and a separate shower stall. A hand painted wall mural (photo #4) and skylights over the tub add extra color to the bathroom. A second three-quarter bath has a roomy shower stall.

Area Attractions
Within a 30 minute drive of the Getaway you'll find the Norfork Dam view overlook, Norfork National Trout Hatchery where you can see trout in life cycles from fry to 15 pound adults, the historic Wolf House built in 1829, antique, art and craft shops, horseback riding, and a trail leading to the top of the bluff towering over the river. For a historic trip into the past visit The Ozark Folk Center with its Ozark Pioneer festivals, music, arts, and crafts. Tour Blanchard Springs Caverns, one of America's more spectacular cave systems. Blanchard is a scenic 1 hour drive away in Mountain View, AR, where you'll also find some excellent art shopping, dining, and live entertainment.  For more live musical entertainment we are 1-1/2 hour drive from Branson, MO music shows, and Silver Dollar City. In Springfield, MO, you can visit Bass Pro Shop, and Wonders Of Wildlife. Historical towns to visit are Eureka Springs and Hardy AR.
